You can now order an S6 saloon or Avant; the first deliveries are scheduled for July. Not only does it contain the Gallardo’s V10, but Audi claims it will return 21mpg.
The saloon is set at £55,330 and the Avant at £56,600. The dash to 62mph takes 5.2 seconds in the saloon; an M5 will get you there in 4.7, but costs £62,705. The Audi returns 21mpg on the combined cycle, according to Audi; BMW claim just below 20 for the M5.
The now traditional Audi aluminium underpinnings are incorporated into the S6 with Audi claiming the S6’s lightweight sports suspension has been extensively modified from the standard A6.
Standard specification includes DVD satnav and a 6 CD autochanger.
