The revised Ford Ecosport tops the list of the most popular reviews on autocar.co.uk this week

The Ford Ecospot has topped the list of the most viewed reviews on Autocar over the past week. Read below to find out what joined it in the top five.

1 - 2015 Ford Ecosport 1.0 Ecoboost

Ford's updated Ecosport baby crossover is currently spearheading our list of the most popular reviews on the site.

We tested the outgoing Ford Ecosport version last year and while we were impressed with its cabin space and manual gearshift quality, we found it possessed rudimentary chassis dynamics, a gruff diesel engine and its cabin quality poor.

However, the Blue Oval brand has given this refreshed Ecosport a thorough update to address the previous version's shortcomings. Click here to read our verdict.

2 - 2015 Volkswagen Passat

Now in its eighth generation, Volkswagen's new Passat has adopted the German car firm's MQB platform and as a result is 85kg lighter than its predecessor with an extended wheelbase for increased rear cabin space.

The new Passat has a tough act to follow, as we found the outgoing model featured supreme refinement and ride quality, and a frugal range of diesel engines. Read our review of the latest Passat here.

3 - Dacia Duster

The compact SUV with Renault in its bloodline has been an enduring fixture in the autocar.co.uk rankings since we first road tested it back in 2012.

It's little wonder people are reading about it, as the Duster offers incredible value for money, a spacious cabin and frugal engines. The flip side are its low Euro NCAP safety rating and its disappointing handling. Click here to read our review.

4 - Mercedes-AMG GT

The indirect descendant to the Mercedes-Benz SLS aims to offer sharper driving dynamics and increased practicality over its more expensive, gullwing-doored sibling.

It will be available in two states of tune - GT and GT S - with the latter reaching UK shores next month. Read our verdict on the new Mercedes-AMG GT here.

5 - Volkswagen Golf R

Our road testers were blown away when they put the new Volkswagen Golf R through its paces and it has remained one of the most popular hot hatchbacks with our readers since it went on sale last year.

It even finished top in our list of The 50 Best Cars On Sale Today, fending off competition such as the BMW i3 and Porsche 911 GT3. Read our full review of the rapid hot hatchback here.
