No longer is Hyundai an out and out budget brand. The new Hyundai i40 is spacious, refined, mature and a worthy competitor of the accomplished Ford Mondeo. At £20,000, however, the new car has to stand and fall on its ability alone. So how does it stack up? Matt Prior finds out in our quick fire review.

The Hyundai i40 Tourer is cheaper than key rivals and it’s available with some very efficient diesel engines. Smile The cabin is classy, and every version comes well equipped. Smile
