Ford’s new supermini to debut in Quantum of Solace Bond film
15 August 2008

The new Ka will make its screen debut in the forthcoming James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.Ford used the previous Bond flick, Casino Royale, to give the first view of the current Ford Mondeo, with a near-production prototype featured as a rental car. 007 won't be using the Ka as transport himself - sticking instead to the Aston Martin DBS - but it will be driven by the latest Bond lady, Olga Kurylenko, who plays the role of Camille.

We'll have to wait for the film to see how subtle the Ka's integration into the plot is - although Ford should have learned a lesson from the last pre-Daniel Craig Bond film, Die Another Day, in which it was criticised for the gratuitious nature of the plugs given to various of its products, especially the Thunderbird.Quantum of Solace opens in the UK on 31 October, but we’ll be seeing more of the Ford Ka before then at the Paris motor show in early October.

Our Verdict

Ford Ka
The Ford Ka lacks the sparkle of the original model

The Ford Ka is the sister car to the Fiat 500, but is it more appealing than the funky Italian?
