Bugatti’s £2.5m Bugatti Chiron has no shortage of expensive customisation options, but the hypercar maker has just extended the list with a new ‘Sky View’ glass roof.
The option replaces the 1479bhp Chiron’s standard aluminium roof with two 650mm by 440mm laminated panels positioned above the driver and passenger seats.
No price has been given, but we can expect the option to add several thousand pounds to the Chiron’s seven-figure list price.
The fixed Sky View roof panels are made up of four layers, each of which is designed to reduce wind noise and reflect infrared radiation to ensure “maximum thermal comfort”, in Bugatti's words. The glass is tinted for privacy and to prevent sun dazzling, while harmful UV rays are also filtered out.
Bugatti claims the Chiron Sky View improves the stiffness of the car’s roof panels, with no effect on overall rigidity or crash safety. Another welcome side effect is that the panels offer an additional 270mm of headroom over the standard car.
A Chiron fitted with the roof panels will make its public debut at the end of next month during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at Monterey Car Week. The roof is available to order now.

...to finally being able to wear a top hat in a Chiron!! 270mm of additional headroom, I bet a Range Rover would struggle to match that.
How much headroom???
Unless the Chiron has one of the thickest car roof linings known to man then I don't think these add 270mm of additional headroom. 27mm maybe....
