The Audi Sport Quattro coupé concept celebrates iconic original and features a bi-turbo V8 and electric motor with plug-in capability. Audi claims 0-62mph in 3.7sec, 190mph and 113mpg. Word is that this concept car shown at the Frankfurt motor show is intended to preview a production model that will sit above the Audi R8 at the very top of Audi's range as a technical and performance flagship.

I like its boxy styling, but it should of stuck with the charismatic turbo 5 and less flabby body, and been marked as Audi's Q-car below the R8 but above the TT. Audi's supercar for the rest of us...oh well.

... but without those showy chrome wheels. As an aside, have Audi considered etching the rear windows with their 'quattro' script, a la UR Quattro (but smaller and darker, perhaps?). Much classier than the (optional) script adorning the front valance of their new RS6, in my opinion. Too much to ask for a full width black rear panel with smoked rear lights I guess. Ah, the 80s....
