The Audi Sport Quattro coupé concept celebrates iconic original and features a bi-turbo V8 and electric motor with plug-in capability. Audi claims 0-62mph in 3.7sec, 190mph and 113mpg. Word is that this concept car shown at the Frankfurt motor show is intended to preview a production model that will sit above the Audi R8 at the very top of Audi's range as a technical and performance flagship.

... but without those showy chrome wheels. As an aside, have Audi considered etching the rear windows with their 'quattro' script, a la UR Quattro (but smaller and darker, perhaps?). Much classier than the (optional) script adorning the front valance of their new RS6, in my opinion. Too much to ask for a full width black rear panel with smoked rear lights I guess. Ah, the 80s....

I like its boxy styling, but it should of stuck with the charismatic turbo 5 and less flabby body, and been marked as Audi's Q-car below the R8 but above the TT. Audi's supercar for the rest of us...oh well.
