Jaguar Land Rover has announced 1100 new job opportunities in its Castle Bromwich manufacturing plant. The additional workforce is needed to support the launch of new Jaguar models including the Jaguar XF Sportbrake, which goes on sale at the end of this year priced from £31,940.
The Castle Bromwich facility will also be used for the production of the new 2013 model year XF and XJ models.
Also planned by Jaguar is a BMW 3-series rival, and a radical, sporty 4x4 crossover, both of which will help lift Jaguar’s sales volume closer to its 100,000 units per year medium-term goal.
JLR CEO Ralf Speth said: “The launch of our latest Jaguar models, including the new XF Sportbrake later this year, means it is a very exciting time for Jaguar.
“These new models will attract new customers to the brand as we look to expand our global reach and further enhance our position in the market.”
This year (January-June), Jaguar alone has sold more than 29,000 vehicles worldwide, representing a 19 per cent increase compared with the same six-month period last year.

I agree. Another boost for the UK motor industry and it shows faith in the UK workforce. JLR is a brand we should be proud of and support.
