D12 Paris to Peking SUV is still being developed, says Spyker boss Victor Muller

Development of Spyker’s D12 Peking to Paris SUV is back on track, CEO Victor Muller has confirmed.

The concept was originally launched at the Geneva motor show four years ago, but development had been put on hold in November following Spyker’s bid for Saab.

But Muller said at this year’s Geneva show that development would now be accelerated due to due to the facilities, parts and technology it has at its disposal following the Saab deal.

The monster SUV, which uses a Volkswagen W12 engine and shares the ostentatious design with which the brand has become synonymous, has a claimed 0-60mph time of 5.0sec and a top speed of 185mph.

Spyker has previously said the D12 will cost £186,000.

I know it's wrong to assume but does this mean the D12 will be fitted with SAAB's XWD?

looks better than a cayenne. Will quietly use 9-3xx chassis but upgraded to use engine from c8

Naaahh. I can't believe they'll use the 9-3 architecture. That would mean a lot of extra development. It will be really interesting to see how the D12 stacks up against the Cayenne though.
