BMW has confirmed it will show two new concepts at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este at the end of May. No further details have been announced, aside from BMW noting the concepts have been "created by its automotive and motorcycle design experts." Last year the company revealed its Pininarina Gran Lusso Coupe concept at the event.
Audi's Audi A4, A4 Avant and Audi A5 coupé models are the latest to receive the manufacturer's new ultra treatment. Ultra trim boosts economy and lowers CO2 to as little as 109g/km in some models. First deliveries of the new models are expected in April.
The next-generation Porsche Panamera will be made entirely at the company's plant in Leipzig. Since its introduction in 2006 the Panamera has been made at VW's Hanover factory, before being shipped to Porsche for final assembly. Porsche will expand its Leipzig site to add extra production capacity.
McLaren has so-far built 65 P1s and delivered 40 to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Japan. North American customers are set to get their cars from next month, with Chinese customers next up in May. The sold-out P1 is being built at the rate of one-a-day and is due to remain in production for the next 14 months.
Volvo has launched a pilot scheme which will see information on slippery road patches shared between cars. The system works using existing mobile networks, with data stored in a cloud service and shared with other cars. Volvo aims to make the technology available for customers within a few years.
Honda's Honda NSX hybrid supercar, which will launch in 2015, will take on the famous hillclimb at this summer's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Honda says the new NSX will "rewrite the rulebook for high performance cars" when it enters production next year.
Zenos boss Ansar Ali has revealed the start-up British sports car maker has received 40 orders for its debut model, the E10. That's despite no-one ever having driven the car, the first prototype version of which was successfully fired up for the first time on Monday afternoon.
