Aston Martin's new Vanquish begins a 26-day tour of UK dealerships, the VW Group enjoys burgeoning sales in China and multinational company Novelis will supply and recycle Jaguar Land Rover’s aluminium

The new Aston Martin Vanquish is beginning a tour of the country ahead of its release later this year. The Vanquish is visiting 21 Aston Martin dealerships around the country over 26 days as part of a preview event for invitation-only customers before it goes on sale.

Volkswagen grew 10 per cent in China this year and VW Group chairman Ferdinand Piech expects the company’s sales to grow a further nine per cent in 2013. “The growth is tremendous,” said Piech today in Tianjin, “You have so many people without cars and we expect a few buyers for our products.”

Rolled aluminium producer Novelis has signed a multi-year agreement to become Jaguar Land Rover’s sole aluminium sheet products supplier. As part of the agreement, Novelis will also recover and recycle JLR’s scrap aluminium with aim of creating a closed-loop recycling system. The new-generation Range Rover will also adopt Novelis material as part of its all-aluminium architecture.
