Chevrolet has added a new diesel engine to its Cruze range.
The 123bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel can propel the Cruze from 0-60mph in 10.3sec and on to a top speed of 122mph. Its CO2 emissions are 145g/km and it has combined fuel economy of 51.4mpg.

In entry-level S trim, the Cruze gets air-con, electronic stability control, a CD player, electric windows, central locking and heated door mirrors.
The higher-spec LS gets 16-inch alloy wheels, a chrome front grille surround, rear park assist, steering wheel audio controls and a leather-covered steering wheel and gearknob.
The latest mode costs from £13,745 in S trim and rises to £14,345 in LS trim. It is on sale now.

I agree about the prices for the new Astra. The Astra used to be the popular mainstay of the Vauxhall lineup but I think that's going to change with the new price range.
There are so many other good cars now out there for a lot less money.
One could say this new range has undergone an Astra-nomical price increase (It's sunday morning so bad puns can be forgiven... can't they?)
