The Mercedes CLA is one of the latest vehicles to achieve a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, while Hyundai uses a hydrogen-powered ix35 to grow food in London

Euro NCAP has revealed the results of its latest round of crash tests. The Mercedes CLA, Jeep Cherokee, Peugeot 2008 and Suzuki SX4 all achieved five-star safety ratings in the latest tests. Other models tested this year include the Qoros 3 saloon, which also achieved five stars, and the Vauxhall Adam, which scored four stars.

BMW has taken the wraps off its latest creation from its BMW Individual Manufaktur division. The new model, a BMW 760Li Sterling, has been created with silver specialist Robbe & Berking and features BMW badges set in Sterling silver alongside other exterior badging. All interior trim strips are also finished in silver.

Hyundai has used its hydrogen-powered ix35 to grow plants and power an aquarium as part of a London-based art project. The car is being used to power an aquaponics ecosystem, which has resulted in food being grown on the mocked-up farm. The manufacturer will soon be starting trials of its hydrogen-powered ix35 in London.

The Abarth 595 50th anniversary special edition will be shown at the Performance Car Show in January next year. The Abarth 595 special edition is the most powerful Abarth 595 ever, and is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine producing 178bhp. It also features 17-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes and a sports exhaust. The car was previously seen at the Frankfurt motor show.

Is BMW's use of "Sterling" related to their continued ownership of the name post-Rover?

The styling of the CLA looks

The styling of the CLA looks like it's been influenced by a crash test. Truly awful looking and ill-proportioned, a far cry from the stunning concept version.
