Tuner installs 4.2-litre V8 into Amarok pickup; new green paint for Disco Volante; gold plated Mercedes S-class

Mercedes tuner Carlsson has prepared its Mercedes-Benz S-Class-based CS50 Versailles for the Geneva motor show next week. It features a twin-turbocharged 700bhp V12 and has been cloaked in more than 1000 sheets of gold leaf. The exterior and much of the interior has some £10,000 of gold leaf applied in a process that takes 200 hours.

German tuner MTM will show a V8 version of the Volkswagen Amarok at the Geneva show. The pickup features a 4.2-litre V8 TDI engine developing 410bhp and 686lb ft. MTM claims 0-62 in six second and a 138mph top speed. A Panhard rod combined with air springs replace the standard leaf spring rear suspension arrangement.

The Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera Disco Volante will be shown sporting a new colour scheme. The Alfa 8C-based model has to-date only been finished in a deep red hue, but the Geneva show car is dark green with gold and red accents. The interior is a combination of brown, gold and black.
