New drop-top Peugeot to go on sale ahead of June launch date

Prices for the new Peugeot 308 CC will start at under £20k, the company has announced.

The entry-level 1.6-litre VTi 120 in Sports trim will cost £19,495 when it goes on sale in June.

However, Peugeot is preceding the car's main launch by selling 100 special edition models from May. The GT100 models will go on sale equipped with the 1.6-litre THP 150 engine, the most powerful unit in the range.

Each of the GT100s gets the top specification GT trim that includes 18-inch alloys, parking sensors and the Airwave neck heating system, as well as special edition GT100 mats, badging and chrome door sills. Fifty of the cars will be available in black, and 50 in white.

The 308 CC GT100 will cost £23,595, a premium of £100 over the standard GT trim.

Plugging the gap between Sport and GT specification is SE trim, which adds 17-inch, air-conditioning, cruise control and automatic rain sensors and headlights.

Customers will also have double the choice of diesel engines than previously available on the 307 CC, with a choice of 108bhp 1.6-litre or 138bhp 2.0-litre units .

Prices will start at £20,495 for the HDi 110 Sport rising to £24,295 for the HDi 140 GT.
