Things are hotting up in the small SUV sector. We've already driven the facelifted BMW X3, the all-new Land Rover Freelander arrives in a couple of months, the new Honda CRV will be here early next year and now Mazda is readying its CX-7 for Europe.
Already on sale in the US, the European version if the CX-7 gets its first airing at the Paris motor show later this month. While the US car gets a version of the 2.3-litre turbocharged engine used in the 6MPS mated to a six-speed auto 'box, the Euro car will have a manual six-speed gearbox, and a wider range of powertrains - a diesel is due in 2008.
The US car is well-regarded for its sporty driving dynamics and rakish looks, and expect the European CX-7 to offer more of the same when it goes on sale early in the new year.
