Heavily modified and uprated Land Rover Defenders on display at Goodwood

Twisted, a company that modifies and upgrades Land Rover Defenders, is displaying some of its cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

On its stand is the prototype 520bhp Twisted 110 V8, recently tested by Autocar, the Alpine Edition 110 and a Twisted Defender 90.

The company produces Defenders that are unique, with each one being customised to suit each buyer's requirements. Engine options include 170bhp and 250bhp diesels, and petrol V8s ranging from 430bhp to 520bhp.

Other enhancements include brake, suspension and steering upgrades, re-trimmed interiors, better audio systems and reversing cameras. Twisted also produces its own exclusive parts for Defenders.

Twisted was originally a Land Rover tuning specialist and has since progressed in to producing complete, upgraded vehicles.

To find out more about the V8-engined Twisted Defender, and what it's like to drive, read our road test here.

I love the idea of these

I love the idea of these machines.

Its odd that Land Rover would rather kill off the Defender when instead they could do something like Twisted (less extreme of course), and find a much larger market for its most iconic car.
