image1366699842.jpgYesterday was a good day for us. Kris set fastest times on 3 of the 6 stages. The day got off to a great start with Kris fastest on the opening stage, which saw local hero Francois Duval crash his Skoda on the first corner. When we spoke to Kris at the end of the stage he said he was surprised to see Duval off and it made him more cautious of the conditions. The roads here in Belgium are rather unique as they have a constant covering of "sand" on the road which affects grip.So far we have had an incident free run unlike our team mates. Nicolas Vouilloz crashed into a ditch on stage one and lost over 2 minutes, Thierry Neuville in our rally winning 207 now back in it's B F Goodrich livery, spun on stage 5, before losing oil pressure and retiring from the rally.Even rally leader Freddy Loix was not incident free as he lost oil from his transmission due to a failed oil seal and limped back to Service at the end of the day with no oil in the transmission. He will have a new transmission for today. At the end of the First Day Kris is only 4.9 seconds behind Freddy Loix a great performance for a driver who has never competed on this rally before. Freddy has won this event 5 times.Today we have 10 more stages to complete before the end of the rally.Who can say Kris is only a fast "Gravel" driver ?
