Day 2 of Rally Russia has been another superb day for Skoda and espacially Juho Hanninen.Hanninen set fastest times on every stage of Day 2.SS5 the first stage of the day was cancelled after the Zero car crashed in the stage. The Zero car is a car driven by a qualified driver on behalf of the organisers to ensure the stage is safe and no spectators etc.... are in dangerous positions. The driver must have got a little carried away but it is also an indication of how testing the stages are.SS6 saw Hanninen extend his lead over team mate Kopecky to 40.6s. Guy wilks finally showed some speed on the stage and set second fastest time.SS7 Hanninen extend his lead by a further 9s. as Anton Allen moved into 3rd place as Basso and Wilks dropped time due to punctures.Wilks lost over 3.5 minutes changing the punctured wheel in the stage. Wilks in now 6th and last of the S2000 cars 4m 43.4s behind.SS8 Anton Allen sets second fastest time behind Hanninen just 5.6s slower.Kopecky sets third fastest time followed by Basso and local driver Aleksandr Zheludov in his Peugeot 207 S2000.Wilks dropped a further 14s in the stage and remains in 6th.SS9 Hanninen fastest again but Allen rips off a wheel in the stage and is recovered to service. He will start day 3 under superally rules.Superrally rules allow the drivers to repair their cars with outside assistance and restart the rally instead of withdrawing. It allows the fans to still see their Heros in action but they cannot score points. With Allen's misfortune team mate Basso moved into third place. Wilks slipped further behind the leaders dropping another 13s.SS10 was cancelled due to safety issues so Day 2 of the rally ends with Juho Hanninen retaining his 100% record. Results end of Day 21 - Hanninen - Skoda - 1hr 11m 55.6s2 - Kopecky -Skoda - +59.8s3 - Basso - Abarth - +2m 47.4s4 - Zheludov - Peugeot - +5m 3.7s5 - Wilks - Proton - +5m 10.2sToday there are 5 stages before the rally finishes back in Vyborg. If the order remains the same Kris will still lead the Driver's standings but will Skoda employ team orders ? We wait to see.
