The superspecial stage at this year's Rali Vinho Da Madeira
kicked off in warm sunshine. The stage was lined with locals who had
come to cheer on their local rally heros.

As the cars ran through the stage in reverse order we had a long wait
until Kris got onto the stage. Both Kris and Paul were very relaxed and
it showed as they went onto set the fastest time of 1m 32.9s.

So at the end of day 1 we lead the rally by 0.9 seconds from local hero and current Portuguese Rally Champion Bruno Magalhaes.

Final Results Day 11 Kris Meeke 1m 32.9s2 Bruno Magalhaes +0.9s3 Corrado Fontana +1.9s4 Nicolas Vouilloz +2.5s5 Luca Rossetti +2.5s6 Giandomenico Basso +2.8s7 Alexandre Camacho +2.8s8 Freddy Loix +2.9s

Guy Wilks finished in 14th place, +6.2s, but speaking with Guy before the start he explained they still have had no real testing with the Proton, therefore, this rally is just a "public" test to improve the car, so not to expect too much.

Tomorrow is a different day to today, as we have 12 stages to get through but at least we have shown we have the speed so far.

One down, 20 to go!
