Here's 10 of my predictions for 2009...
Chrysler will merge with GM. Though Jeep will be floated off, maybe to Nissan-Renault. If its got any sense it will completely restructure the line-up and make a big play of what is still one of the world's most recognisable brands. Jeep designed i-pod anyone?
Alonso will sign for Ferrari. So goodbye Kimi for the 2010 season.
Audi will lose a bigger percentage of its business than BMW or Merc.
Company cars will become a business tool again, rather than a perk. (see above)
Hyundai-Kia will enter a major form of motorsport.
Peugeot will win Le Mans.
The Ford Focus RS will prove to be better than an Impreza or an Evo, proving that four-wheel drive isn't everything. But it still won't beat the Megane R26R's record around the 'Ring.
We'll have to stop calling the new baby Rolls, the baby Rolls when it turns out to be bigger than a 7-series.
The only cars capable of keeping any sort of residual value will be upmarket and small. So Audi A3, Mini, Alfa Mito etc. We'll also see a few more makers showing us some tiny, but luxurious concepts.
Porsche's new Panamera will blow the BMW M5, not to mention every other mega-saloon, into next week.
Over to you...
