Toyota sold 408,000 Camry models in American in 2013. If the Camry was its own brand, it would crack into the top 10 selling makes in the States. It’s clear the Camry is a very important car for the Japanese company.

All the exterior panels bar the roof have been changed on the 2015 Camry and there are nearly 2000 new parts. The chassis is reinforced with new spot welds, improving rigidity.

The suspension has also been fully retuned and the track is slightly wider, by 10mm. Toyota claims that the new aggressive grill is "all about attitude", while LED headlights are now offered to further improve its looks.

Inside, a new centre stack is fitted along with other enhancements and refinements. Toyota claims a large improvement in regards to wind and road noise. One unique option is an available wireless charging system for smartphones

Engine offerings are carried over. Two petrol engines – a 2.5-litre inline four and a 3.5-litre V6 – as well as a hybrid powertrain are available. Both conventional engines utilise a 6-speed automatic. The hybrid version features a CVT.

The refreshed 2015 Camry is built in America, in the state of Kentucky, and it goes on sale in autumn.
