Working for Ferrari is now officially great, just in case you didn't think it would be anyway.

Ferrari has been voted the Best Place to Work in Europe 2007 by the Great Place to Work institute. The success has been mostly attributed to 'Formula Uomo' (or Formula Man). This is a scheme started by boss Luca di Montezemolo in the late '90s that aims to motivate each member of staff by placing importance on their role in the company. Some of the benefits that have sprung from this scheme include the Renzo Piano-designed wind tunnel, a new mechanical machining department and plenty of benefits for the employees including health checks, discounts and entry to the Formula One races. With perks like that, we're not surprised the staff enjoy working at Ferrari. Our own Jon Quirk spent two days working at Ferrari earlier this year, when they let him have a go at welding a 599 (read the story here). He says it's almost as much fun as working at Autocar.
