New car sales rise; Germany up by 20 per cent

Car sales raced up by 9.6 per cent last month in western Europe, a rise spearheaded by a notable market recovery in Germany. New car sales in Germany, which is Europe’s biggest economy and largest car market, were up by 20 per cent. BMW’s sales in its home market went up by a massive 25 per cent to 80,295 vehicles, while Volkswagen also reported an 11 per cent rise. Spain is the only European country where car sales didn’t increase.
