The Honda Civic Type R is routinely one of the most exciting hot hatchbacks around.

With more than 300bhp, big wings, skirts and a real sense of purpose, it adds something unique to a segment packed full of choices: the Ford Focus RS and Volkswagen Golf R chief among them.

Now the Honda Civic Type R is back, promising to be just as hardcore as ever. The new version has 316bhp from its 2.0-litre turbocharged motor.
