With a 217mph-plus top speed, a 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds and a Nürburgring lap record to its name, the Aventador SVJ is unquestionably fast.

In fact, it's comfortably the fastest Lamborghini on sale today, with 759bhp from a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine helping it outpace even the limited-run Centenario.

Those are hugely impressive numbers, but it's the active aerodynamics and four-wheel steering that make it more agile than a V12-powered super-sports car has any right to be, and what makes it purpose-built for smashing lap times - as Matt Prior discovered on a recently-resurfaced Estoril circuit in Portugal.
