Skoda Australia has launched a track-focused project car to promote the new vRS.

The Skoda Octavia RS-P features a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, which produces 254bhp and 258lb ft of torque. A standard Octavia vRS produces 197bhp and the same 258lb ft.

These upgrades have been achieved by a retuned ECU module, a three-inch stainless steel exhaust system and a new enlarged air-filter.

Upgrades include 355mm front and 310mm rear disc brakes, which are hidden behind black 18-inch alloy wheels. It rides on grippy Yokohama Advan tyres.

Additional performance upgrades include reinforced front and rear strut-braces, fully adjustable dampers, and a rear suspension cross-brace.

Completing the look are honeycomb grilles, green brake callipers and subtle RS-P badging.

Re: Track-spec Skoda Octavia vRS

While I'm sure it's good, Skoda have a Rally winning S2000 Fabia, alas there isn't a Hot version of the Fabia to buy in the forecourts, a mistake methinks!

Re: Track-spec Skoda Octavia vRS

I hope this car makes production as I rather like it (although not sure about the cross braces in the boot - sort of defeats the purpose of it being a practical estate). It will be in a niche all of its own, as there is very little in the way of performance estates at this end of the market. Bring it on Skoda.
