The facelifted 2014 Chevrolet Camaro has tweaked styling, but engines remain unchanged
26 March 2013

The facelifted Chevrolet Camaro appeared on an American daytime TV show today, ahead of its official reveal at the New York motor show tomorrow.

The show, Live! with Kelly and Michael, briefly revealed the car with subtly tweaked styling. The headlights and grille are narrower than before, and the twin rear light units have been replaced by one-piece rectangular clusters.

Few changes appear to have been made to the interior, and while no official announcement will be made until tomorrow, the show reports power output is unchanged.

That means a 323bhp V6 in LS and LT models, a 426bhp V8 in SS models and a V8 tuned to 580bhp in supercharged ZL1 models. The facelift will be applied to both coupe and convertible models.

It’s now on sale officially in the UK, so would you want to buy one?

To be honest I can't really tell the difference between this and the current model, but that is no bad thing as the current Camaro is, in my opinion, the best looking car on sale today.  If they sold it in Right hand drive I would work damned hard to find the money to buy one.  (Oh, well, I suppose a lottery win and about £85,000 to buy a specially converted ZL1 in Australia it will have to be then!)

I like the multispoke wheels of the one on the TV show.

In reality, this looks like a vanity make over, the sort of thing where the designers have tweaked it because it is their show case model, rather than actually needing to.

It's all about the twisties........
