23 May 2007

Do you want a say in deciding the best performance car in history? Well now's your chance; have a go at Autocar’s latest online game, the Fast Car Cup, and you can nominate your favourite fast car for the recognition it deserves. We've concocted a world cup knockout-style competition starting with 32 qualifying fast cars nominated by a panel of automotive experts. You begin by making sixteen sudden-death decisions that’ll put as many cars through to the second round, and just as many out of the running altogether. Another eight picks select your quarter finalists, and so on, until you end up with an overall winner. We’ll be giving your chosen cars points as you go and compiling them in an overall standings list which you’ll be able to access at the end of the game. You’ll also receive a unique entry code that will allow you to keep an eye on the results as the game develops, and it'll be doing that for a whole month. To read about the Fast Car Cup qualifying process, and to find out why our panel of car experts chose the performance cars they did, get the new look Autocar magazine, out May 23.And what of the winner? We’ll be devoting an Autocar drive feature to the Fast Car Cup champion of champions, which means we'll be taking it somewhere special for an epic strop, some beautiful photographs and some great video too.
