Three debuts and a host of star attractions graced the motorsport and performance car show in Birmingham this week

As always this year's Autosport International show served up a feast of motorsport and performance car delights for fans. 

Hotly anticipated reveals from noteworthy manufacturers and start-ups drew the crowds during the first part of the show. 

There were three major debuts for 2016. First, Ginetta unveiled its G57 prototype, a dramatic, 580bhp LS3-engined racer set for Le Mans.

With a carbonfibre monocoque and crash box, aerodynamic package and styling straight off a Le Mans starting grid, the Ginetta proved one of the most popular models at the show.

Zenos’ E10 R also made its debut at the show, and, although no formal silk-sheet-lift took place, the news was broken that Zenos is to expand its range to three models, with the two new product lines promising a more practical approach.

The hardcore E10 R with its power-to-weight ratio of 500bhp per tonne caused a stir at the show, with the limited edition Drive edition having almost sold out, and orders already being processed for the track-focused E10 variant.

Another car revealed for the first time at the show was the Arrinera Hussarya GT. Claiming the title of ‘Poland’s first supercar’, the team behind the Hussarya aims to compete in the British and European GT4 racing series.

Small Devon-based firm Avatar, a spin-off of kit car brand Marlin, revealed its newest model; the Avatar Roadster. The Roadster is based on Marlin's 5EXi model but has been subject to an extensive redesign for its production run. 2.0-litre and 2.3-litre Ford Ecoboost engines are used while a feathery 700kg kerb weight ensures impressive performance figures.

A road-going variant of the Hussarya is also slated for procuction, as well as a more exclusive Hussarya 33-badged model.

Jaguar gave fans a pair of identical show-stealers: two Jaguar C-X75s, one example on static display and the other demonstrating its capabilities in the live action arena. The C-X75’s headline-grabbing appearance wowed crowds and was a firm favourite among guests.

Visible from most parts of the show, the Williams Martini Racing motorhome was an imposing feature of the Autosport International show, framing the Autosport stage. An impressive driveway of Williams Formula 1 cars extended the enormous Williams feature even further.

Of course, our Autocar stand wasn't to be missed either; with the Mazda MX-5 and Honda Civic Type R, as well as the McLaren P1 GTRAston Martin VulcanBMW M4 GTS and Ferrari 488 GTB taking pride of place, as some of our favourite cars from recent months.

Aside from the show-stealers, more race-ready cars and exhibits than you could shake a show programme at filled the NEC, with exhibits varying from the historic selection of Coys auction lots to the most outrageous quarter-mile-honed dragsters. The phrase ‘something for everyone’ has never been more appropriate.
