Currently reading: McLaren to reveal two new cars at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Woking manufacturer expected to show off a new 650S GT3 racing car, as well as a road-going 650S fettled by McLaren Special Operations

McLaren will unveil two new models at next week's Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of which is expected to be a GT3 version of the 650S from McLaren GT, the company's sports car racing arm.

McLaren has revealed a solitary, heavily cloaked image of one of the new machines. Few details are available, although McLaren suggests it is "track-focused" and the sponsors' decals and central wheel nuts on the pictured car suggest it is a full competition car.

McLaren GT is the division of the company that's been responsible for the design, development and production of the 12C GT3 race car, the 12C GT Can-Am Edition and the 12C GT Sprint. With the 650S road car effectively superseding the 12C, it seems logical that the company will follow suit with its racers.

McLaren's second new car at Goodwood is a special example of the 650S developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the division which creates exclusive custom designs and bespoke one-off projects. That car will take part in the dynamic displays on the hill climb.

The new offerings will appear at McLaren's display area, which will also feature a host of models from the past, present and future of the company. It will be home to examples of the recently launched 650S Coupe and Spider, as well as the McLaren P1. The P1, registered P1 00V, is the same car featured in Autocar's video road test (see below). Alongside this will be a McLaren M7C Formula 1 car from 1969.

2009 Formula 1 World Champion and McLaren Mercedes driver Jenson Button will also drive one of the brand’s latest models up the hill.
