Mercedes will drive its hydrogen fuel cell-powered F-Cell around the world

Mercedes has announced that its B-class F-Cell will be driven around the world to promote hydrogen fuel cell powered cars.

The ‘Mercedes-Benz F-Cell World Drive’ is a marketing ploy by the company and will showcase the usability and functionality of hydrogen as an alternative fuel - refuelling the F-Cell takes only three minutes, according to the company.

In the year of Mercedes' 125th anniversary, the F-cell will circumnavigate the world in 125 days, starting in Germany and following the route through Portugal, the US, Australia, China, Russia, Sweden and then Denmark, ending once again in Germany.

Three B-class F-Cell Mercs will take part, each covering a distance of approximately 18,500 miles. The drive begins in Stuttgart on January 30 and finishes in the same city at the beginning of June.
