Hot Fabia previewed at the Geneva show

This is the Skoda Fabia Sports Design study, a pointer to the eventual look of the forthcoming Fabia vRS.

Unveiled by the Czech firm at the Geneva show this week, the Skoda Fabia Sports Design is purely a colour and trim study, but it whets the appetite for new vRS, which Skoda is due to launch within the next 18 months.

The next Skoda Fabia vRS will look more extreme than this concept, too. “The next vRS will be somewhere between the Sports Design and our S2000 rally car in looks,” said a Skoda source.

The next Fabia vRS is set to use the VW group’s 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine rather than the old car’s powerful turbodiesel motor.Geneva homepage - see all the cars from the Geneva motor show 2009
