Mazda reveals Mazdaspeed 6 concept at Tokyo Auto Salon

Mazda is all geared up to show this Mazdaspeed 6 at January's Tokyo Auto Salon custom and tuner show. Officially, this is the 'Mazda Atenza Mazdaspeed Concept,' (Atenza being the Japanese model name for the Mazda 6) and according to a Mazda source in Tokyo, it is just that - a concept. With lowered body and trick 10-spoke alloys, this "concept" obviously points the way to a successor to the modestly successful 2.3-litre turbocharged 4WD Mazda 6 MPS. But according to a Mazda insider, no specific model plan on an MPS successor has been signed off, so this Tokyo Auto Salon car goes under the lights as a "what if" teaser to gauge reaction, with as yet no tech details revealed of what's underneath.
