Mazda sexes up the CX-7

This pumped-up machine is as bananas as its paint scheme. It's the Mazda CX-7 Adrenaline, produced for the SEMA modified car show in Las Vegas.

The CX-7 Adrenaline runs a heavily modified 2.3-litre turbocharged engine churning out over 300bhp, and a six-speed manual gearbox – US CX-7s normally only get auto boxes. The engine has an enlarged turbo and modified heads to increase power from the standard car's 244bhp.

It's not just the powertrain that's been pumped up. The Adrenaline has three-inch wider arches, new doors, and a whole new front and rear. We particularly like the Volvo C30-style glass rear. It rides on whopping 22-inch alloys.

Inside there's some garish interior trim and a suitably pumped-up sound system. Sadly there are no plans for production.
