This is Giugiaro's take on the Ford Mustang, destined to be one of the Los Angeles motor show's top stars.
The Italian styling house and coachbuilder has changed the American muscle car's lines by subtly adjusting all of the body panels. The result is a more aggressive stance, with more than a nod to classic Mustangs from the 1960s. The most radical styling elements are the one-piece glass windshield and roof, and the Lamborghini-style scissor doors.
Under the bonnet, the Mustang GT's 4.6-litre V8 gets a supercharger and revised fuel injectors. It produces over 500bhp, ensuring that the car has enough grunt to exploit its Ford Racing handling pack. However, we're less enthusiastic about the interior, where the orange colour scheme is far less effective. In particular, the finishing on the seats looks er.. interesting.
