Seat’s fastest, most powerful production car ever, the Leon Cupra R, will cost from £25,205 when its order books open at dealers from 1 April.
Powering the R’s front wheels is a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 261bhp and 258lb ft of torque. It can crack 0-62mph in 6.2sec and reach a top speed of 155mph.

Combined fuel economy stands at just under 35mpg, while CO2 emissions are rated at 190g/km.
Styling changes over the rest of the Leon range include twin exhaust tips, an integrated rear diffuser, a rear spoiler, R badging and a gloss black trim.
Filling the arches are 19-inch double-spoke Potenza alloy wheels with 235/35 tyres. Inside, the Cupra logo features on the leather steering wheel and competition-style bucket seats, while the ‘R’ appears on the LED-lit dials.
New colour options include metallic Tribu yellow (pictured).
