Alex Robbins
Title: Used Car Editor

Alex has been writing about used and classic cars for almost ten years, and following stints working on Autocar's sister site PistonHeads and advising readers of the Daily Telegraph, is now Autocar's Used Car Editor. He has owned more than 30 cars, the latest of which is a classic BMW 635CSi, and when he isn't writing about used cars, he's usually researching them for friends or window-shopping for his next purchase.

Peugeot 306 GTi-6

It will never quite have the cachet of its predecessor, the 205 GTi, but the
306 GTi-6 was the hot hatch to beat for most of the 1990s. Combined with its near-perfect proportions, that’s going to make it a desirable car soon – and with top examples starting to crest the £5k mark, prices are creeping northwards. There are still plenty of tatty snotters around, though, so only buy clean, tidy, standard cars with a reasonable mileage.
