Geneva does, of course, has a big presence of interesting new electric and hybrid vehicles. But for me it seems dominated by performance cars and that is properly refreshing.
Of course, the Ferrari is the star of the show, but there's also a brace of hot hatches (the Fiesta ST and and Astra VXR are particularly exciting), and the new Audi RS4. The previous version of which still features in my dream garage. For me, the RS4 has more to live up to than almost any other car at the show.
It's great to see that there is still so much progress to be made with the conventional sports car. And more importantly it's amazing to see the excitement they still send ricocheting around the industry. The buzz here is just fantastic.
I'm fascinated by the evolution of alternative fuel cars, but Geneva 2012 belongs to the good old-fashioned sports car. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
