image1865384548.jpgRound 8 of the IRC, the Barum Czech Rally Zlin will be a very important round for us.The rally is the home round for Skoda so Kris's closest rival in the driver standings, Jan Kopecky should start as favourite. After missing the last rally in Madeira both works Skoda drivers will be out to repeat their victory in Russia. There will be a total of 25 S2000 cars competing in the rally from five different manufacturers - Peugeot, Skoda, Fiat (Abarth), Opel and Proton. The BF Goodrich Peugeot 207 S2000 Drivers prize car will also be running in the rally driven by local driver Martin Prokop. So Kris and Paul will have some stiff competition as Skoda will have 4 cars running including the 2 works cars of Hanninen and Kopecky. With such a strong local entry we will have a big battle to get on the podium. Our target is to maximise our points score and maintain Kris's lead in the drivers standings.Kris's test before Madeira on similiar roads to those around Zlin showed we have a fast car able to set good times on this type of stage. The rally starts on Friday with a 3 lap super special stage totalling 9.36 km in Zlin. Then Saturday and Sunday will see a further fourteen stages before the end on Sunday after a total of 254.96 km.If you want to keep up todate with how the rally is going, stage by stage, follow us on Twitter athttp://www.twitter.com/peugeotrallyI will update this blog site once I get to Zlin on Thursday with all the news from our Czech adventure.Who is your money on for the top step of the podium?
