Good to see that one company has something positive to say about its finances. Lotus has just posted some pretty encouraging results, mainly because its engineering consultancy business is booming.

So is this a sign that the rest of the car-making world is finally seeing thing in Lotus's way? After all, they've been promoting lighter, more fuel-efficient cars for years. And now that is just what everyone else is trying to develop.

Hethel is also doing good work in helping others with hybrids and alternative fuels.

Don't forget too, that for other companies outsourcing R and D to the likes of Lotus is often a quicker and cheaper solution than doing something in-house.
