Porsche tester and double rally world champion to compete in 24-hour race

Porsche tester and rally legend Walter Rohrl will compete in next May's Nürburgring 24 hour race at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The 62-year-old will drive the 444bhp 3.8-litre engined car as part of a factory Porsche team during the race, which he last contested in 1993.

"No other road-going 911 has ever been as close to a race car as this current GT3 RS," said Rohrl. "That's why I'm thrilled to be able to prove that this sports car is up to the challenge of the 24-hour race."

Re: Rohrl to race GT3 RS at the 'Ring

When I see driving like this, I feel a bit embarrassed that I ever try.
