Honda's tuning arm to diplay new-look hybrid at Tokyo Auto Salon
14 January 2010

The Honda Insight Sports Modulo Concept is among the star cars that will be displayed at this weekend's Tokyo Auto Salon, one of the biggest aftermarket shows in the world.

Based on the Insight hybrid, the concept is designed to show the possibilities of Honda's Modulo customisation range. The look is described by Honda as "Exciting Eco".

Our Verdict

Honda Insight

The Honda Insight is more affordable, but no better than other hybrids such as the Toyota Prius

What ever you think of the standard car, i think every single bit they have added makes it look worse. They could start by fitting the 1.5 hybrid from the forthcomming CR Z, and its manual box if they want to offer one with a bit more driver appeal, but i wont call that sporty either. Its not as if the CR Z is going to be quick, and this weighs more.

And how is adding weight through lumps of plastic ever going to be eco? Or make a better car?

I don't understand those addenda to the wheels. They make it look horrendously imbalanced.
