First pictures of hardcore Porsche 911 GT2 RS
11 May 2010

This is the production-ready Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

Although the car has not been officially launched, these images were taken at a presentation to Porsche dealers.

The pictures reveal that the hardcore Porsche 911 gets a wider body, additional spoilers, numerous carbonfibre parts and air intakes behind the door.

The interior has been stripped out to save weight, while it has been finished in a red trim. Reports suggest the weight-saving programme has shed around 100kg from the 911 GT2.

Although there has been no confirmation, reports suggest the car will be powered by a twin-turbocharged flat six producing more than 600bhp.

Porsche is expected to reveal full details of the car this week.

Yawn. 'nother Beetle. Rather have a Jag X-Type, etc, etc. I think that's how the template goes. Saves you the bother now children.

I'm not an out and out Porsche lover, but you tell me of another car that's still as popular as it was when it first appeared?, and isn't a sunny Sunday jaunt car?

It might look familiar, but if I had more ability and money I just would. Be stupid not to.

I still aspire to a 911 of any ilk preferably an early 1980s 3.3 turbo, but i wouldnt turn down a newer one either. Just need to find the money now. The GT2RS has got to be the ultimate.

Just like any good woman. When treated respectfully they wont give you too much hassle, give them too much grief....

I'm not too proud to admit I'd be sh1t-scared of driving this, even if I could afford one!

I think a Turbo S, and the very necessary 4x4 IMO, would be as far as I would go. Hypothetically!

I think there have been a few people waiting for a RS version of the GT2, and it's finally here! This has the potential to be the fastest car in everyday driving, point to point - the performance will simply be mind boggling.
