Clubman S model being used to promote JCW brand

Mini has launched a 'Rally Edition' Clubman S - although it will only be available to US buyers.

Just 70 Rally Editions will be sold, and they have been created to create publicity ahead of the release of the Clubman John Cooper Works (JCW) tuning kit for the car in the US.

Changes from a standard car include 'rally green' mirror caps and side skirts, a black paint scheme, a matching roof, Mini’s Sport Package, clear lens indicators, xenon headlights, 17-inch black alloy wheels and a Bluetooth kit.

Optionals include the JCW tuning kit, sport stripes, a roof rack and rails, a new roof basket and driving lights finished in black.

Prices with the JCW kit start at $32,999 (£20,000).

The news of the car's launch - and Mini using rallying to promote its JCW brand - comes just a week after the brand was linked to competing in the World Rally Championship with its upcoming four-wheel drive car in 2011.
