Chevrolet will launch its new Ford Focus rival at the Paris motor show

The all-new Chevrolet Cruze family saloon will be launched at the Paris motor show in October, the company has confirmed.

A rival for the Ford Focus and Honda Civic, the Cruze will be the first General Motors product to be built on the firm's new Delta platform and is due to go on sale in the UK in 2009. This 4.6m-long four-door will usher in a new styling language for Chevrolet. Offered initially as a five-seat saloon, the Cruze will be powered by GM's all-new 1.4-litre engine with an output of 120-140bhp. The Cruze will be sold alongside the Lacetti, Chevrolet's other family car, when it arrives in showrooms worldwide in 2009.
