Latest promo video shows interior and exterior shots

These are the first interior pictures of the new Audi A1, taken from the latest official teaser video for the car.

In addition to showing some of the interior, snapshots of the car's exterior are also visible, although some of them are pixelated.

During the video the Audi A1 is shown being driven in a warehouse by Bayern Munich football stars Bastian Schweinsteiger and Philipp Lahm.

The upmarket supermini, due to go on sale at the end of 2010, is likely to be priced from around £13,000 for the base three-door model, although the bulk of the range will retail at between £15,000 to £20,000.

The new A1 will share a lot of mechanicals with the recently launched VW Polo. Exact details are scarce, but it’s likely to be powered by a range of existing VW Group engines and some newly developed motors.

Audi sources say that the company is keen to offer A1 buyers a similar ownership experience to that of the Mini. That’s likely to include a wide range of options to personalise your car.

The company is also planning an all-in service package, designed to give a fixed ownership cost over three or five years.

The Audi A1 is a stylish and competent supermini, if a little expensive - but does it have the edge over the Mini hatch, Seat Ibiza and Ford Fiesta?

My explanation wasn't intended as an apology - just an explanation.

I have sympathy for your point of view, but the fact is the A1 interior story has been our most read story for yesterday and today. That's tens of thousands of reads/views - I can't ignore that fact.

If you don't like it, can I politely suggest you don't click on any stories containing the words Audi A1 until the car is fully revealed (at which point it will, inevitably, be our lead story on the homepage).

Agreed, I really enjoy most of Autocar's articles online and I look forward to all the writers blogs also. But those Audi interior pics were such poor quality they were pretty much a waste of time.

We are all interested in new cars, particularly brand new models, but come on, they were dire! Most people don't complain because they can't be arsed.
