Supercars in convoy London-Silverstone

Supercar fans in London and the Midlands should be entertained tomorrow morning (Friday) when a convoy of 33 high-performance cars will make a calvalcade-style journey from central London to Silverstone circuit.

The convoy will include a Dodge Viper; Aston Martin V8 Vantages; an Ascari KZ-10 and pre-production A10; three Ferrari F430s and an F40; a TVR Tuscan S (a Speed 12 is also rumoured to be attending); Maserati Quattroportes; a Porsche GT3 RS; a Morgan Aero 8; two Lotus Exiges and several more.

The convoy, which has been organised to celebrate the Tourist Trophy FIA GT sportscar meeting at Silverstone, will leave Pall Mall at 10am tomorrow morning. The route takes it up St. James's Street, along Piccadilly and out along the A40 to Amersham. Taking the A413 out of the town the first coffee stop is scheduled for Chalfont St. Peter at around 11.30. Then it's on to Aylesbury, the A418 and then A5 to Towcester where the Silverstone pace car - a Viper - will join the convoy at the circuit.

The supercar brigade will then convey the Trophy - won seven times by Stirling Moss - to the event organisers, before taking in a lap of Silverstone's Grand Prix layout.
