Formula One legend Michael Schumacher's former Bugatti EB 110 SS is for sale for 600,000 euros (£520,000).
the car is described by the sellers, Maranello Motors in Colo as being in "better than new" condition.
How can that be? A car pre-owned can encorporate the latest upgrades, superior elements than that fitted by the factory, or such things as body work resprayed, but by definition it cannot be "better than new condition" for all aspects undergo wear and tear to some degree.

the quote doesnt contain the word "condition" so the "better than new" definition maybe about the conceptual worth of the car, based on upgrades or previous owner history etc.

yep - that Fablon dash surround just oozes better than new sentiment....

An old car certainly can be in better condition than when it was new. Take a look at an RS Williams Aston Martin restoration, an Eagle Jaguar E-type, an Omicron-rebuilt Alfa or some of the old Lotuses that go through Paul Matty.

Just a nitpicky point - but the car's official designation is Bugatti EB110 S. There is only one 'S' as Supersport was written as one word by Bugatti and not two seperate words. Although I do concede that most people refer to the car wrongly and know it as as EB110 SS.

The current Pope's VW Golf went for a silly price (£73,000, i think ?), so why should we be surprised if Schumi's Bugatti SS goes ballistic?, it's just a car that was once driven by a very famous person,i bet it doesn't even mean that much to him?

Peter Cavellini.

so the popes car sells for £73,000, i bet Richard Dawkins second hand cars sell for book price.

To me this makes me think dealerships run by the church would make a killing.

Ex celebrity cars always go for a fortune. I remember Princess Dianas old Ford Escort being sold for about 100 times its original price.

As far as better than new, this is quite possible as these were not VW engineered Bugs but made in Italy during the hayday of crummy Italian supercar build quality, so any restoration will probably improve the fit and finish of the original.

not such a legend when rosberg smashes you week in, week out

You mustn't have seen the last two grands prix or the previous 17 years of Formula One then Holy.Cat. Maybe that's because you were too busy getting your head up inside Rosberg's ass.
