German-built turbocharged flat six powers this Arab supercar to 249mph

Dubai supercar company W Motors has produced a new model called the Fenyr Supersport that uses a turbocharged flat six engineered by RUF.

On show in Geneva, the mid-engined model’s powerplant is related to those fitted to the German Porsche tuner RUF's own products. The 3.8-litre unit puts out 789bhp and 723lb ft of torque.

It is claimed to enable a 0-62mph time of 2.7sec and a top speed to rival the similarly bold Zenvo TS1 GT.

The Fenyr Supersport, which has been co-developed by engineering specialist Magna Steyr Italy, has carbonfibre bodywork and is said to weigh 1350kg. The exterior has active aerodynamics.

Just 25 examples of the car are due for production per year, each priced at $1.4 million USD, which equates to just over £1m.
