Never mind the congestion charge: British sports car maker sets up in the centre of the city

Fancy a lightweight, low-emissions two-seater for getting around in the Big Smoke? Now it no longer need be a Smart car, as Lotus is opening a new showroom in London’s Park Lane.Previously, if you wanted to get a Lotus in London you had to venture to the badlands of Romford or the wilds of West Horsley, Surrey. The new flagship store promises to be “fully stocked,” meaning you’ll be able to pop in and pore over Elises, Exiges, Europas and the new 2-Eleven (read our road test here). There’s also the rather tasty GT3 concept car on display. If you can’t stretch to a new motor, the showroom will also offer the usual selection of Lotus-branded products (and we’re not talking about the Proton Satria GTi).
